Requirements for a BREAD Prepaid MasterCard®
In order to confirm your identity, to sign up for a BREAD MasterCard® you will need:
- A valid UK Driving Licence Number
- OR A valid UK or International Passport Number
- Valid Email Address
- Valid Mobile Phone or Landline number
How to Top Up your BREAD Prepaid Debit Card
To top up your BREAD Prepaid Debit Card, the following methods are available:
- PayPoint Outlets - Top up at any PayPoint Outlet in the UK
- Bank Transfer - Transfer money directly from your Bank Account
- Wage Transfer - Have your wages paid straight onto your card!
There are currently over 20,000 PayPoint outlets in the UK, so where ever you are in the country you should always be near somewhere you can top up your card. Alternatively, you can have your employer pay your wages straight onto your BREAD Prepaid Debit Card, saving expensive cheque cashing fees!

Apply for a BREAD Prepaid MasterCard®
To apply for a BREAD MasterCard®, you need either a valid UK Driving Licence number or a valid UK or International Passport Number (to verify your identity).
There is a £10 fee for the BREAD Prepaid Debit card which can be paid for by debit or credit card, or by texting BREAD to 80225 and the payment will be taken from your phone credit or added to your phone bill.
